Five times European Champion, Finland<= /st1:country-region> is preparing to battle for the European Championship title once again in = this years A-group European Championships. This is the eleventh (11.) time tha= t Finland participates in European Champio= nships and Finland is the only team that has always cleared its way to the final tournament. With 9 championship final appearances and 5 titles the team is looking to continue in the path written by the previous championship teams.

The team will be led= by the highly successful head coach Tuomas Heikkinen whom will be assisted by Kim Wikström, Heikki Halttunen, Janne Kilpeläinen, Ville Tarvai= nen, Kari Titola and Jorma Hytönen. Team selections and rosters will be announced on a later date.

With a 20-5 overall record and .800 winning percentage Finland is one of the favou= rites to get to the Championship final this year. However, last years close fin= al against Germany (30-29) proved that there is no room for mistakes in any game. Austria will be a tough battle and Team = Finland<= /st1:place> has to show its best football to succeed.
